Switzerland is delirious with joy.
Ecstatic Swiss fans dominated the Switzerland landscape after the sensational 1-0 victory over European champions Spain.
Switzerland is quite surprising after 1-0 in the opening match against European champions Spain at the World Cup in South Africa. And Vuvuzelas honking could be heard across the country. The streets of Zurich were in a sea of red and white - the Swiss national colors. "Hopp Schwyz!" in Switzerland or the German "Hop Suisse" in the Geneva region - where battle cries, that the jubilant supporters trough in the air.
Actually, no one had expected this result. After the final whistle, the jubilation was so incredible. In the online services of the Swiss media that there was pure euphoria. "Sensation! Although there is no great public viewing, it attracted many supporters after the match on the Federal Square, where they celebrated with a chorus of car horns and waving flags. The police did give the fans and escort. In many clubs and bars in downtown, the beer flowed freely.
In Zurich the fans celebrated the victory with chants, many saw the Helvetic kicker already a world champion. Also, at the Zurich main station there were victory celebrations after the court of the State Museum a well-attended public viewing ended. In Chur, Lausanne the traffic came to a standstill after the match.
With this win of Switzerland against Spain, they have now equalled Italy’s record of 5 consecutive FIFA World Cup matches without conceding a goal. They have now gone 484 minutes without conceding behind only Italy (550) and England (501). Congratulations to Switzerland for winning this FIFA World Cup 2010 match against Spain. You have proven yourselves that you are also a force to be reckoned with.
